Savor the flavors of the Bluegrass
Kentucky knows how to do music—and it knows how to do steak. In the spirit of blending traditions, we’ve created a Kentucky Bourbon Butter Steak Recipe that brings the state’s love for local flavors to life. This dish combines the richness of a perfectly seared steak with the subtle sweetness of bourbon-infused butter, celebrating Kentucky’s legacy of great food and fine spirits.
Kentucky Bourbon Butter Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 Ribeye steaks (or your favorite cut)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & freshly ground black pepper
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp Kentucky bourbon
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- A pinch of smoked paprika (for a subtle Kentucky BBQ twist)
Instructions:
- Season the steaks generously with salt, pepper, and a dash of smoked paprika for added depth.
- Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare), adjusting for your desired doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, reduce the heat and add the butter, garlic, and thyme to the pan. Spoon the melted butter mixture over the steaks as they finish cooking.
- Deglaze the skillet with bourbon (careful – it may flame briefly), creating a smooth sauce to complement the steak.
- Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes, then drizzle the bourbon butter sauce over the top before serving.
