Savor the flavors of the Bluegrass

Kentucky knows how to do music—and it knows how to do steak. In the spirit of blending traditions, we’ve created a Kentucky Bourbon Butter Steak Recipe that brings the state’s love for local flavors to life. This dish combines the richness of a perfectly seared steak with the subtle sweetness of bourbon-infused butter, celebrating Kentucky’s legacy of great food and fine spirits.

Kentucky Bourbon Butter Steak Recipe
Ingredients:

  • 2 Ribeye steaks (or your favorite cut)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp Kentucky bourbon
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme
  • A pinch of smoked paprika (for a subtle Kentucky BBQ twist)

Instructions:

  1. Season the steaks generously with salt, pepper, and a dash of smoked paprika for added depth.
  2. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare), adjusting for your desired doneness.
  3. In the last minute of cooking, reduce the heat and add the butter, garlic, and thyme to the pan. Spoon the melted butter mixture over the steaks as they finish cooking.
  4. Deglaze the skillet with bourbon (careful – it may flame briefly), creating a smooth sauce to complement the steak.
  5. Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes, then drizzle the bourbon butter sauce over the top before serving.
