Renfro Valley Entertainment Center
Known as Kentucky’s Country Music Capital, the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center has been a beloved destination for music lovers since 1939. Nestled in a lush 55-acre valley just off I-75, Renfro Valley is home to a rich tradition of classic country, southern gospel, and mountain bluegrass that echoes through its historic show theaters from April to December each year.
About This Venue
Founded by John Lair, who dreamed of bringing the sounds of Kentucky’s heartland to audiences far and wide, Renfro Valley became a hub for music and radio broadcasts, including the legendary Renfro Valley Barn Dance. With artists like Red Foley, Slim Miller, and Lily May Ledford gracing its stage, the Valley quickly earned its place in country music history.
Visitors today will find a perfect mix of music, history, and hospitality. The Old Barn Theater, where it all began, still hosts live performances, while the newer New Barn offers additional entertainment throughout the year. Just a short walk from the theaters, you’ll discover a charming shopping village and a full-service RV campground for guests who want to extend their stay in this picturesque valley.
As part of the Kentucky Music Trail, Renfro Valley Entertainment Center is not just a stop on the journey—it’s a destination where the past and present of Kentucky’s rich musical heritage come to life. Whether you’re attending one of the famous bluegrass festivals or the popular Christmas in the Valley show, you’ll experience the heart of Kentucky’s musical legacy in a place that feels like home.
